Incredible Lego Brick Futuristic Model of Japan
This incredible Lego creation of a Futuristic Model of Japan, is a sculpture with a difference, it was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Lego Building Block in Japan, the company sponsored a team of up to 5000 Japanese school children from 6 different regions of the country (named project 'build up') to assemble this almighty masterpiece. The children were challenged to build imaginary futuristic structures with the overall vision of a Japan they all wanted to create and see, with a little help from their parents and Lego officials the amazing creation came to life, spanning a whopping 82 feet the outline of the structure is an exact replica of the shape of Japan, the total amount of ivory coloured Lego bricks used to create the piece adds up to a staggering 1.8 million!. Project 'Build up' took place over 6 different workshops located in different regions across the country where the children created their unique masterpieces. The 6 completed sections of the creation were then transported and all joined together in a convention centre in Tokyo.
